Since its debut in the 1990s, Alga Carta—a paper made from marine algae—has continued to inspire and evoke emotion. This unique paper was originally developed using algae that had grown excessively and caused harm to the fragile ecosystem of the Venice lagoon.

To this day, that same process is upheld, repurposing surplus algae harvested from other marine areas around the world. The algae particles are visibly retained on the paper’s surface, giving it a natural and distinctive aesthetic.
